A 25-year-old Millsboro man was charged with robbery Thursday after allegedly loading $180 worth of meat into a shopping cart and trying to leave the Super Fresh grocery store in Lewes without paying for it, police said.

Kevin C. Waryasz struggled with a 44-year-old employee who tried to stop him from leaving the store at 18758 Coastal Highway, Delaware State Police said.

The incident took place around 5 p.m.

The store employee subdued Waryasz until police arrived. Waryasz was charged with robbery, offensive touching and disorderly conduct and was taken to Sussex Correctional Institution after he failed to post bail, police said.
